I was born in Melbourne, Australia, then was lucky enough to grow up on a large sheep and cattle station situated in South West Queensland, colloquially known as ‘the outback’. I look back on my childhood spent in the Australian bush as a simple and privileged time. Days spent on horseback mustering cattle, or maybe building cubby houses down on the river banks. Nights spent around an open fire. No TV and no real technology. It was a simpler time, surrounded by nature, amazing animals, and beautiful ‘salt of the earth’ country folk. I couldn’t have wished for a better place to grow up.

Being so remote had one major draw back – there were no real schools near our home. So I was sent to boarding school in Brisbane at the age of 11. This was around 8 hours drive away, and somewhat of a shock to the system, living away from home at such a young age.

After school, I transitioned into the University to complete a four year undergraduate degree. I have worked in the health industry since graduation, specialising in the treatment of individuals with upper limb injuries. It’s a sub-specialty known as Hand Therapy, and is an exciting and rewarding career, and one that I have loved for much of my life.

My other true passion is Interior Design. About 5 years ago I took on the epic task of building and renovating our home which forced me to study Interior Design and Decoration through a boutique institute in Brisbane.

I have also been fortunate enough in my life to travel and it is from this globe trotting passion that my blog has developed. My husband and I have spent much of our married lives exploring this incredible world and I have cherished and adored every adventure.

With more than a few trips under our belt, and a budding passion for photography, it seemed the appropriate next step to share my favourite travel spots online. We were very fortunate to be introduced to some beautiful parts of the world by lovely friends who had travelled there often, and were generous enough to share their world with us. Taking the recommendations of a seasoned traveler changes your experience in my opinion. Books are wonderful, but honestly, who has the time to read a book.

So here is my Travel and Lifestyle Blog. A collection of our absolute favourite spots in the world. Sprinkled with my much loved photography.

I hope you love them as much as I do.

Happy travels.
